You will want to pick up any fallen branches or twigs, any litter, leaves, pinecones, or piles of dead grass.
Clean out the garden and flower beds:
Cleaning out the garden and flower beds is important because your flowers need room to grow. Start by clearing out any dead plants. You will next want to be removing any old weeds and rake up any fallen leaves. Cleaning out the garden and flower beds helps you when you begin fertilizing and planting.
Re-seed damaged areas of your lawn:
Heavy traffic or any messes from your pets can ruin your lawn. If you have any damaged spots like this that need fixed you need soil, grass seed and fertilizer. You will want to sprinkle the soil, grass seed, and fertilizer over the area to get the grass to grow back in your damaged spot. Be sure to keep your dirt moist until you start to see the seeds sprouting into grass.
Prune and trim your trees and shrubs:
Start by removing any dead limbs or branches. Be sure to only remove what is dead. You can tell the difference by looking at the color. Brown means that they are dead and green means that they are alive. You only want to remove the “brown” ones.
